THE GHOSTS

There is a good side to this, the last Great War,

For it means that there won't be war anymore,

And a land fit for heroes, (that's us), to live in,

Might seem fair exchange for the lives we have given

It's a shame that we won't be there to partake,

That we won't be taking our share of the cake,

The heroes of old were promised Valhalla

And Mohammedans will be rewarded by Allah,

Dark-skinned Hindis by re-incarnation

And us? we'll make do,

For our faith has been shaken,

With the heart-felt thanks of a Grateful Nation
