A Pasty's a thing of the past

A PASTY'S A THING OF THE PAST

You'll eat when you can

For each meal might be your last

Stew or soup or sausages

Or if you're lucky -  Spam

Eat while you can

Fill your belly young man

For a pasty's a thing of the past

To eat what you're given is the soldier-boy's lot

If you're very very lucky it might even be hot

It might turn your stomach

As often as not

Eat it up you great lummox,

For it's all that we've got

And a pasty's a thing of the past.
