THE BRAVEST OF THE VERY BRAVE
The bravest of the very brave
Were those who risked their lives to save
Men who thought it right to fight
Wounded men are never light
Though evil drives good men to war
We, who violence abhor
Must share their danger,
Feel their pain
And show there is another way.
For as we stagger through the mud
Our mangled burdens stained with blood
There is forgiveness from above
In spite of man, our God is love.
