Ten Brave Ladies

TEN BRAVE LADIES

Ten brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me ! look at me!"

I'll stay in my depth, and then I'll be fine

But sadly, she wasn't, and then there were nine.

Nine brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

She never thought she would meet the same fate

But sadly, she did, and then there were eight

Eight brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"Hoorah" she shouted, "this really is heaven!"

And sadly, it was, and then there were seven.

Seven brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"I'm the queen of the surf and I know all its tricks!"

But sadly, she didn't, and then there were six.

Six brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

" It's lovely and cold, I feel really alive!"

But sadly, she wasn't, and then there were five.

Five brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"There aren't any Portuguese Men of War!"

But sadly, there were, and then there were four.

Four brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"That nasty rip current won’t get hold of me”

But sadly, it did, and then there were three.

Three brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"Come on in you softies, I'm braver than you!"

And sadly, she was, and then there were two.

Two brave ladies went down to the sea

And one of them said " look at me! look at me!"

"Do come and join me, I'm having such fun!"

But then suddenly - she wasn't, and then there was one.

One lonely brave lady walked down to the sea

And said under her breath, " look at me! look at me!"

But there on the beach there was no-one to see

So she sadly walked home, for a nice cup of tea.
