Of his majesty's forces

OF HIS MAJESTY'S FORCES

Of His Majesty's Forces

The chaps on the horses

Are, you have to agree, the elite

To go plodding around

Down there, on the ground,

Through the muck and the mud, on your feet,

Is  much less dignified

Than riding up high

On a horse in a nice leather seat

But then one might have to leave

One's magnificent steed

And fight on foot on the ground

And then, if you're wounded

And some bits are sore

The fault of this altogether

Unfortunate war

And you're forced to sleep

Between lovely white sheets

You have to admit

That although war is shit

Some of the nurses

Are awfully sweet..
